Purposes and Tasks

Goals and objectives of the Tashkent House of Photography

-    implementation of complex program in the sphere of development and promotion of modern art aimed at development of national culture, art and art photography as inseparable and most actively developing direction in modern world art process;
-    familiarization of guests of Uzbekistan with best achievements of modern art and photography, with works of most outstanding masters of the genre;
-    consistent work on study and promotion of artistic heritage of Uzbek masters;
-    all-round support of activity of young photographers;
-    growing of intellectual and moral inward and sense of respectful attitude towards national and common to all mankind values in growing generation.

Directions of activity of the Tashkent House of Photography

-    Arrangement of city, republic and international contests, festivals, exhibitions, symposiums, masterclasses, conferences and meetings aimed at study and exchange of cultural habits;
-    Holding of scientific and practical seminars and conferences dedicated to modern photography and new technologies with professional photographs and amateur photographers taking part;
-    Organization of Information Center for domestic and foreign photography, creation of computer archive and video-library;
-    Compiling of electronic catalogues of domestic and foreign photography art on the basis of the “Tashkent House of Photography”;
-    CD-ROM-series on photography;
-    Compiling of video library devoted to history and theory of photography, photo albums, catalogues of exhibitions, referral literature;
-    Fund collection of antique and modern art photographs, as well as photographs being of documentary and artistic value for Uzbekistan;
-    Edition of catalogues, text-books, manuals, books on photography, magazines;
-    Order, buying, restoration and examination of art photographs;
-    Establishment of photolaboratories and galleries;
-    Educational activity in the sphere of photography.
